Concrete Cleaning

The proper cleaning of concrete is necessary for proper surface preparation prior to concrete repair and waterproofing treatments. The appropriate methods are determined by the type of repair and finishes selected. Methods include high pressured water, chemical cleaning agents, abrasive blasting, shot blasting, grinding, etc.

Often the extent of concrete repair cannot be fully determined until after the concrete has been thoroughly cleaned to expose existing cracks, delaminations, etc. In most cases a vehicular or pedestrian traffic coating, will require a different surface prep than the application of a water repellent. For instance, an aggressive power wash is adequate surface preparation for clear water repellent applications where an aggressive abrasive blast is usually the required surface preparation for a vehicular or pedestrian traffic coating.

Mid-Continental technicians are trained and experienced in the use of these methods. We are certified applicators for the leading manufacturers of waterproofing products, and proud of our partnerships in the restoration and waterproofing industry.
