Scope of Work

Mid-Continental Restoration undertook extensive work to preserve and restore the Armour Building’s structural integrity and historic character. The project included:

  • Tuckpointing and selective brick repair and replacement on all elevations.
  • Cutting new window openings and installing new window sills with flashing.
  • Interior concrete installation, repair, and replacement.
  • Repair and replacement of plaster bands around windows and the building’s base.

Challenges and Solutions

Restoring a historic building within a highly trafficked tourist area presented unique challenges. Coordinating work to minimize disruptions required strategic scheduling and careful planning. Additionally, maintaining the building’s historic authenticity while incorporating modern reinforcements was a priority.
