Budig Hall At The University Of Kansas

Mid-Continental Restoration has a long-standing relationship with the University of Kansas, having completed several projects over the years. Our latest endeavor was the comprehensive restoration of Budig Hall, a pivotal structure on the university’s campus.

Scope of Work

The restoration project aimed to address various structural and aesthetic issues that had developed over time. Our team conducted extensive power washing, tuckpointing, caulking, stone replacement, and crack repair to restore the building’s integrity and appearance.

Innovative Solutions

A significant part of the project was the installation of more than 100 linear feet of the prefabricated TotalFlash system, which enhances moisture management and structural durability. Additionally, over 900 weeps with screens were installed to improve moisture control, and all windows were reglazed to boost both durability and aesthetics.

Challenges and Solutions

The primary challenge was to execute the restoration while preserving the historical essence of Budig Hall. Our team meticulously planned and coordinated each phase, ensuring minimal disruption to campus activities and upholding the highest safety standards.

Results

The successful revitalization of Budig Hall has not only preserved its historic charm but also ensured its structural integrity for future generations. This project exemplifies Mid-Continental Restoration’s commitment to excellence and our expertise in handling complex restoration projects.
