Kansas City Union Station – Kansas City, MO

Kansas City’s most iconic structure and one of its most precious treasures, Union Station, has deep roots in the community. Its rich history not only includes serving as a major transportation hub but also the Kansas City Massacre where four law members were gunned down by gang members trying to free captured fugitive Frank Nash in 1933 during the Pendergast era.

In 2017, 20 years after the 1997 major renovation project, MCR was once again selected to perform comprehensive, exterior stone maintenance to this massive structure and preserve it for many years to come. The project last two years and consisted of limestone cleaning, repointing, sealant replacement, stone replacement, stone patching, lead t-cap installation. It was an honor to be trusted with the restoration of such a magnificent structure surrounded with all its history.
