Pittsburg State University Monument
Our team was bought in to perform a restoration on the Pittsburg State University monument sign and return it to its original glory. The monument, which was dedicated by the university’s 1936, 1937, 1938 & 1940 graduating classes, had fallen into disrepair and was no longer serving its role as a beautiful landmark on the school’s campus.
We began by removing the dilapidated brick walls and replacing these with structurally sound brick that better match the surrounding campus buildings. Engraved stone signage and benches were also installed to replace the old, deteriorated stone. Deteriorated stones on the monument walkway were replaced with new and the walkway was 100% repointed. This marks another successful MCR project at Pittsburg State University after the Carnie Smith Football Stadium restoration was completed last year.
