MASONRY CLEANING

The accumulation of pollutants, biological growth, or paints and coatings can be detrimental to the longevity of any masonry structure.  The cleaning of these surfaces should be considered regular maintenance.  However, this cleaning should be handled carefully, and by experienced personnel.  This includes selecting the appropriate cleaning method.

Our team at Mid-Continental is experienced in using the “mildest means possible”, to avoid damaging the often very delicate details of the “historic fabric”.  We employ a variety of cleaning methods, ranging from low pressure water soaking, to chemical cleaning, to various micro-abrasive methods.

"The men did an excellent job. They were very careful of surrounding property, and upon completion made sure we were entirely satisfied with their work."

Featured Project

Wichita KS – North High School

MCR has been contracted several times by the Wichita School District to preserve the exterior of North High School. This school is a beautiful building with highly ornate terracotta accent elements. The terracotta has experienced spalling of the glaze from the surface which MCR has successfully replicated with products specifically designed for terracotta repairs. Additionally, MCR has replaced many spalled bricks around the building and repointed deteriorated mortar joints.
